Regional Elections in Venezuela: Update 8

31.10.04 - 13.23 GMT - Electoral Director Jorge Rodriguez just cast his vote in Unidad Educativa Virgen de Betania in El Valle constituency. He had to vote in another centre, also in El Valle, but owing to a large turn out in said centre he was 'moved' to Virgen de Betania to speed up his act of voting. According to him the totality of the polling centres are fully operative nationwide and all accredited personel have received electoral credentials. He stated that centres will likely close at 4 PM, depending on the decision in that regard that the CNE board takes later on. Problems that may arise are to be dealt with by the Comando Unificado de las Fuerzas Armadas Nacionales (CUFAN).
