Venezuela: Censored video ¿Cual Revolución? portrays the true Chavez

By Aleksander Boyd

London 26 July 2004 – The much talked about video ¿Cual Revolución? is raising a few eyebrows in Venezuela. National Electoral Director Jorge Rodriguez tried, unsuccessfully, to stop the broadcasting of the video in a letter sent to TV channels. The illegal attempt to forbid its transmission by the CNE director backfired badly for it turned the video in an instant bestseller and brought much attention to it, which would not had been the case had Rodriguez remained within the realm of his electoral duties.

The video is an x-ray of the so called ‘revolution’ and portrays Chavez in his habitual charlatan self, promising this that and the other and consistently failing to produce any tangible solutions. In segment number 5 of the video one can see Hugo Chavez admitting in front of the Diplomatic Corps and the press, without compunctions of mind, that the oil strike was provoked by him on purpose.

It is a chronological account that need be sufficiently analysed if a sound understanding of Venezuela’s political, social and economic crises is to be achieved; is Hugo Chavez at his very best.

A reader was kind enough to send me these links to the different segments of the video (latest windows media player needed). Readers are adviced to copy and paste them into the browser window.
